Our lead dreamgirl, Kathy Piech-Lukas, has planned more than 250 weddings throughout Southwest Ohio, including Dayton and Cincinnati, during the past twelve years. With more than 20 years of event planning experience, Kathy’s career began planning large scale events like concerts and family weekends at Xavier. From there, it expanded into the corporate world in marketing communications and public relations positions at Fortune 500 companies Owens Corning and Sprint. After that, she went the independent route, and performed client work for companies like Cincinnati Bell, Cinergy, Drees Homes, Frisch’s, Garagetek, Wayne Dalton and Teachers-teachers.com. While planning her own wedding in 2004, a handful of her own vendors asked Kathy if she had ever considered becoming a
wedding planner. (Her next question — ‘What is a wedding planner?’) She and her husband decided to give it a try for a year, and each year for the next three years the business doubled in size and earned coveted industry awards like ‘Knot Best of Weddings.’ Twelve years later, Kathy is still a major player in the industry locally in Ohio and throughout the United States. She is a member of The Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame, multiple time winner of the Couples Choice and Bride’s Choice awards from Wedding Wire, and was recently named WiBN’s Top 25 Women to Watch in Dayton for 2016. She is a member of the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center board of directors, served as Vice President of the Reading Bridal District in 2015, and currently serves as Vice President of Programming for the Cincinnati Chapter of ILEA.
